About The Company
We are an award-winning, Chambers & Partners-ranked provider of flexible legal talent solutions. We partner with leading financial institutions, blue-chip organisations and in-house legal teams, giving them agile access to high-calibre legal expertise — at the right level, for exactly as long as they need it. Over more than a decade, we've built our reputation one brief at a time, and we've recently been formally recognised by Chambers & Partners in the NewLaw category for Flexible Legal Staffing.
We're now investing in our external profile, and we're looking for an experienced fractional PR consultant to help us tell our story.
The Engagement
This is an initial six-month engagement, at approximately one day per month, with scope to increase if the partnership is working well. We're after a senior, self-sufficient consultant who can operate strategically with minimal hand-holding — someone who brings the contacts and judgement of an agency without the agency overhead.
What we're looking for you to do
Working closely with our Managing Director, you'll help shape and deliver a focused PR strategy that builds SJP's profile across the legal and professional-services landscape. Over the six months, we'd expect this to include:
- → Developing a simple, effective PR strategy aligned to our commercial goals and existing content activity
- → Securing coverage and commentary opportunities in relevant legal and business media (e.g. The Lawyer, Legal Week, Legal Futures, Global Legal Post, and mainstream business press where relevant)
- → Positioning our founders as credible voices on the shift toward flexible/interim legal resourcing and the evolution of the NewLaw market
- → Building relationships with journalists and editors who cover the legal services, NewLaw and legal-recruitment space
- → Identifying and supporting reactive commentary opportunities tied to market and regulatory developments
- → Advising on awards strategy and industry recognition opportunities
- → Amplifying key milestones (our Chambers ranking, brand developments, notable mandates) into earned media
What we're looking for in you
- → A track record in PR for the legal sector or professional/B2B services — ideally with experience of legal suppliers or services businesses, not only law firms
- → Established media relationships across legal trade and business press
- → Strong news sense and the ability to find the story in what we do
- → Excellent writing — able to produce sharp, jargon-free copy and compelling pitches
- → A self-starting, consultative style suited to a lean, fast-moving business
- → Comfortable working directly with founders and translating commercial priorities into media outcomes
The details
- → Commitment: c.1 day per month
- → Term: 6 months initially, with potential to extend/expand
- → Location: Remote, with occasional London meetings as useful
- → Reporting to: Managing Director
If this sounds like a fit, we'd love to hear how you'd approach building SJP's profile — and to see examples of relevant legal or B2B coverage you've secured.
