Event delivery: 4 consecutive days on site in mid-July, plus 1–2 days post-event
Day rate: £300 per day inclusive of platform fees (approx. £250 per day to the freelancer)

Overview
A globally recognised UK live event with a strong heritage in automotive and motorsport is seeking part-time freelance PR support to help elevate and promote its technology and future-focused programme.
The brief is to broaden awareness beyond traditional audiences, positioning the event as a leading platform for technology, innovation, sustainability and future mobility, while engaging a younger and more tech-curious audience.
The role will support promotion of a dedicated technology strand within the event, including innovation showcases, education initiatives, alternative fuels, sustainability, and partner activations.
Purpose of the Role
While the event is internationally known for motorsport and automotive excellence, there is a growing opportunity to build stronger recognition for its technology and innovation proposition.
With younger audiences increasingly engaging with the event, this role will help ensure technology, STEM and future-focused storytelling is visible, compelling and well-covered in the media.
Key Responsibilities
Secure high-quality media coverage for the technology and innovation programme, reaching national, international, technology, science and lifestyle audiences
Prioritise pre-event coverage to support ticket sales, with on-site and post-event coverage from attending media
Proactively invite and manage press attendance at the July event
Work closely with the in-house events PR team and project leads to identify strong, creative storytelling angles
Deliver proactive media outreach, including:
Press release writing
Pitching and media liaison
Coordination of photography and filming
Influencer engagement where relevant
Tailor press materials for different audiences, platforms and editorial angles
Coordinate press release distribution in line with the wider events communications plan
Explore collaborative PR opportunities with headline partners, exhibitors, education programmes and event participants
Handle media enquiries, build relationships with journalists and manage interview requests
Support on-site press activity during the event, acting as a key point of contact
Track coverage and share press cuttings, summaries and impact reporting with the events PR team
About You
Experienced freelance PR professional with a strong track record in events, technology, innovation, sustainability or science-led storytelling
Confident working across national and international media, including tech, lifestyle and mainstream outlets
Proactive, organised and comfortable working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
Available for on-site delivery for four consecutive days in mid-July
