Job Title:
Interim Senior Corporate Communications & Investor Relations Consultant
(6–9 months, FT or day rate contract – PE-backed infrastructure business)
Location:
Hybrid – UK-based (HQ in the South East)
Contract:
6 to 9 months, full-time or part-time (minimum 4 days per week)
Available as fixed-term or freelance day rate
Immediate start preferred
Day Rate:
£550/day to the consultant
FTC equivalent: c. £85,000 pro rata
About the Role
We are supporting a leading European infrastructure business, recently acquired by a private equity firm, to appoint an interim communications consultant. The business is undergoing significant transformation following the acquisition, with a focus on enhancing corporate reporting and building a compelling narrative ahead of a future exit or listing.
You will take the lead on crafting the business’s corporate communications and investor narrative, developing and delivering key materials such as the annual report (front end), corporate messaging, and internal stakeholder communications. This is a high-impact, delivery-focused role where the successful candidate must be comfortable operating autonomously and engaging at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the creation and delivery of the annual report’s front-end content and supporting materials

Shape a coherent corporate narrative aligned with the private equity owner’s goals

Engage with senior internal stakeholders to extract key messaging and bring clarity to the company’s strategic journey

Work with external consultants and internal teams to drive the production process through to completion

Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, particularly at executive and ExCo level

Provide regular updates to maintain visibility and alignment across senior leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile

Strong background in investor relations, financial communications, and corporate reporting

Proven experience working within or alongside private equity-owned businesses

Able to translate complex operational and financial information into clear, compelling messaging

Experience producing front-end annual report content in collaboration with auditors and internal teams

Strategic thinker with strong execution and stakeholder engagement skills

Resilient, self-starting, and able to operate with limited structure or direction

Ability to work diplomatically with senior stakeholders and bring them along the journey
Contract Structure

Available as a freelance day rate role or fixed-term contract

hybrid working - 3 days in the office in London

Potential to overlap with a permanent hire, supporting onboarding and knowledge handover
