Meet the Team: Ivana Stevanoska, Community & Marketing Manager

Posted in Interview,

Tell us a bit about your role at The Work Crowd.

I've been with The Work Crowd for just over three years. I originally joined as a Community Marketing Executive, and my role has evolved significantly since then.

Today, my role is split between marketing and account management. I support both The Work Crowd and Hanson Search with social media, content, design, events and marketing activities, while also working closely with our clients and freelancers as part of the account management team.

No two days are the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role.

Do you work with UK clients only?

No, while many of our clients are based in the UK, we work globally. As a platform, we're able to support organisations around the world.

Recently, for example, I worked with an international client with headquarters in Berlin and Boston who was looking for specialist communications talent in the United States. It's exciting to work on projects that span different markets and regions.

What makes The Work Crowd different?

For me, it's the quality of our network combined with the personal support we provide.

Every freelancer on our platform is industry-endorsed and reference-checked. We work with experienced specialists who have built successful careers in their respective fields, whether that's communications, PR, marketing, social media, events or sustainability.

What really sets us apart, though, is the human element. Many people assume we're simply a technology platform, but behind the platform is a team that genuinely cares about helping clients and freelancers succeed.

We take the time to understand people's needs and guide them through the process, which creates a much more personal experience.

Is that personal touch still important in the age of AI?

Absolutely.

AI is becoming a bigger part of all our lives and can be incredibly useful, but there are certain things it can't replace. Building relationships, understanding people's individual needs and creating trust are all fundamentally human skills.

That's why I believe the personal touch remains one of our greatest strengths.

Do you have a particular interest in social media and digital trends?

Yes, definitely.

I enjoy keeping up to date with developments across social media, and it's interesting to see how quickly platforms evolve.

At the moment, TikTok continues to be a major focus for many brands. We're seeing increasing demand for social media specialists who can help businesses strengthen their presence on the platform and create engaging content.

LinkedIn also remains incredibly important and continues to be one of the most valuable platforms for professional networking, thought leadership and business growth.

What do you consider your greatest achievement so far?

My greatest achievement is probably the growth I've experienced over the last few years, both personally and professionally. Personally, I've learned to appreciate the small things and not tie happiness only to big milestones. Professionally, I'm proud of the contribution I've made at The Work Crowd and the opportunity to work within an international team. It's been incredibly rewarding to connect great people with exciting opportunities and to play a role in helping the business grow. For me, both achievements are really about continuous learning and personal development.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don't be afraid to try new things.

Say yes more often, challenge yourself and step outside your comfort zone. Growth happens when you're willing to push yourself and embrace new opportunities.

And similarly, what advice would you give to young people starting their careers today?

Be curious and keep learning.

Don't worry about having everything figured out immediately. Every experience teaches you something valuable, and being open to new opportunities can take you in directions you never expected.

How about young women entering the industry?

Believe in yourself and don't be afraid to take up space.

There are more opportunities than ever before for women to lead, influence and shape industries. Be confident in your abilities, trust your instincts and don't let fear of judgement hold you back.

There are so many inspiring women leading businesses and organisations today, and there's no reason why you can't be one of them. I’m lucky to work across two businesses led by incredible women who genuinely encourage and support everyone around them to succeed and be the best they can be.

Who or what has been the biggest inspiration in your career?

My inspiration comes from within, but it's also heavily influenced by the people and culture around me. The support, understanding and trust I receive from my team inspire me every day. Having the freedom to express myself, share ideas and grow in a positive environment has been one of the biggest drivers of my professional development.

Finally, in three words, how would you describe The Work Crowd?

Fast. Supportive. Trusted.
